sustainable
buildings
Southfacing
have many years experience in offering specialist advice on building
projects where specific sustainability issues need to be considered.
This includes:
- Guidance
to design teams on sustainability integrated building design,
including latest government policy (e.g. The Sustainable Code
for Homes) and within budgets.
- Experience
of working in bidding teams and for large corporations.
- Application
of clean and renewable systems.
- International
experience of low/zero carbon developments through DTI missions
to Japan and North America, and work with the London Energy Partnership.
Within Southfacing
we have consultants with significant experience in commercial, healthcare,
education and residential sectors.
In developing
a strategy for good environmental performance we will work from
international agendas down through EU and National Regulations to
a regional and local focus. This context is vital if the new development
is to fit in with the overall objective of Sustainable Development.
CIBSE Low
Carbon Consultants Register
We
have been selected as one of the first companies to become a member
of the CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants Register, supported by The Carbon
Trust. The register aims to provide details of design and building
operation professionals to encourage better energy performance (and
so reduced carbon impact) in new and existing buildings. This also
means we are recommended by DCLG (formerly ODPM) to sign off Part
L compliance as part of the new Building Regulations 2006. Click
here to visit the CIBSE website for more info.
