Southfacing was formed by a group of specialists intent on creating a realistic sustainably built environment.
Environmental Policy
We at Southfacing are genuine in our commitments to sustainability issues. We want to do all we can to minimise our impact on the environment. We feel we should lead by example and as a result have committed to the following environmental strategy for all aspects of our business:
- Use sustainable energy sources wherever possible;
- Adopt a policy of reduced pollution in travel, opting for public transport where feasible and only using flights as a last resort;
- Use local products and services wherever possible;
- Promote the philosophy of reduce, reuse, recycle, by reducing consumption of materials and reusing wherever possible, identifying which materials could be recycled and considering the full life cycles and efficiency of any materials or equipment bought;
- Minimise waste in all operations by efficient use and careful planning;
- Meet, and where appropriate, exceed the requirements of all relevant legislation;
- Work with our suppliers to minimise the impact of their operations on the environment and ensuring wherever possible they have their own environmental policy;
- Encourage the implementation, by all Southfacing employees, of sound environmental practices by providing guidelines and training where necessary. At management level, Southfacing will monitor progress and carry out an annual self evaluation, identifying areas of improvement. Southfacing is committed to achieving ISO 14001:2004.
